Last Monday, we were asked to present about technical description of a drilling machine using microsoft word, so here are the technical description about drilling machine.

DRILLING MACHINE

Drilling machine is a machine for making holes with removal of chips. Drilling machines are used for drilling, boring, countersinking, reaming, and tapping.It consists of stepped pulley for speed changing,belt,belt guard,motor controls,driving motor,spindle lock,depth gauge and stop,chuck,column,spindle axis,worktable and base.

A drilling machine has a large steel base for stability.It  takes drills up to 12.5mm diameter and the spindle speed is varied by altering the belt position on the stepped pulley. The feed is operated by hand through a rack and pinion. The type of feed mechanism enables the opertator to ‘feel’ the progress of the drull through the material being cut.

There are 4 types of drilling machine used in engineering workshops : The Bench Drilling Machine, The Pillar Drilling Machine, The Column Type Drilling Machine and The Radial Arm Drilling Machine.

To drill an object using the drilling machine,intially, a centre punch is used to mark the workpiece.The work that is marked by centre punch later is set on a  worktable.Then, the drill bit is adjusted according the size needed in the operation sequence. After that, the work piece that will be drilled is set on the workbench.This is the portion of the depth value.

Next, the depth of the centre punch is set with the drill chuck’s fine with chuck key. The marking out are then moved to the work’s surface by steadily moving it to the drill chuck along the surface plate. The depth of the hole also can be controlled. Later, the spindle lock is locked and the “power” button that is on side of the drilling machine is pressed to turn on the machine. The drill bit is turned and lowered by rotating the feed handle. Finally, the drill bit is lowered on to the marked point for drilling and then, the machine is turned off when you are done drilling the work piece.

To prevent injuries, It is made sure that the workpiece is supprted by a holding device and not by hand. Brush is used to clean the chips or sawdust .It is to ensure that the cutting tool is running straight before starting the operation. Loose clothing is should be avoided and safety googles should be worn at all times when drilling. The feed is eased if drill breaks inside the workpiece.Machine guards and drill bit should be returned to the correct place after it is being used

What is photo sharing?

• It is a way to share your photos or videos to the world using 'Twitpic' or 'yfrog' or using from another social network, such as instagram,path,pinterest and many more
• Everyone loves photos. Just like tweets, photos that you share on Twitter should also be interesting and funny.Twitter accepts photos that are 3MB and below,but if you want it post your photo faster, you crop it or make the size even smaller.
•  Twitter not only support ".jpeg" , It also support ".png" , and ".gif "
• Now Twitter allows users to add images to their tweets. Users will now find a camera icon on the bottom of the “What’s Happening?” box on Twitter.com. Clicking it will let users select a picture to upload.

'RESEARCH' 

How to use research on twitter?

• Twitter is about following people and topics you are interested in. That said, Twitter can also be used as a research tool.
  

_{These are simple ways I have used Twitter for research:}

• Hashtags: Pick the ‘hashtags’ (keywords) related to the focus of your study. In this case, I searched for the topic #Brunei. Once I searched the hashtag #Brunei, it shows other twitter that are tweeting using the #Brunei hashtag in their tweets and that provided information linked to my project
  
• Also from, 'Trending Topics' i get a lot of information about other countries. For example ; On August, Philippines hit by a flood, many of the twitter user tweet "#prayforthephilippines" until it reaches Trending Topic : Worldwide, if they didnt they tweeted that i would not have known that Philippines has been hit by a flood

_{Tools/Twitter apps that i have used for research:}

• TweetDeck: This is the most popular software to manage and organize your information on Twitter. It allows you to have columns by hashtag. This makes tracking a hashtag easier. You download this free software to your PC, Mac or smartphone and connect it to your Twitter account.

• Trendsmap: This is an online tool that allows you to visualize in a map the most tweeted words and hashtags use by geography.
